I want other potential customers of Cleary to beware. After doing the damage they did not offer any help and just went away. Their salesman stopped communicating and retired.
The only days they stayed late were the days we were on-site. It took 3 months for them to get the building almost finish. The final week they got sloppy and scratched a bunch of tin. The sales guy wanted us to pay the final $8k and we laughed in his face. He told us they would just open a warranty ticket.

I did so based on seeing so many of theirs in my neighborhood. A few days later i contacted the salesman to cancel my contract. The corporate office would do so but only after deducting almost $3,000 from my deposit, stating it was for engineering costs.

I asked for a detailed invoice for the charges of over 4k that they were charging me for. The DIRECTOR OF MARKETING refused to produce the invoice! I received my partial refund in late July of 2021, nearly 10 months of nothing being done that cost me over 4k.. This company is the biggest group of liars you’ll ever meet.

Dear Circle K, I often drive through Thornville Ohio for construction jobs in the area, and I stop by this particular Circle K quite often. The last several times I've stopped in, there's always long lines, and at the same time there's always 2-3 workers sitting outside smoking cigarettes, WITH THE MANAGER!!

In a word, Horrible is how I would describe my experience with Cleary. If I could give them zero stars, I would. To begin with, they give you an estimate based on perfect building conditions, not on your site specific conditions.

We have executed over 120, 000 of those contracts and have been in business since 1978. Our projects range from simple outbuildings to elaborate commercial structures, the contracts do need to be detailed. We regret that this Client is not pleased with the outcome, and we did escalate this project to the Region Manager as soon as we discovered the problems with the project. We did everything possible to work with this client to proceed with the building and take care of him.
I believe the $500 I offered to be sufficient compensation for doing nothing extraordinary. From his earliest days, Pat could be seen on all the job sites with his father, showing his keen interest for home building. Pat is well known for his design prowess in both custom and innovative, entry level, single family homes, earning him many awards for excellence in new home design. The building is fine, communication was very poor, and I would not use them again. The most shocking for a large company is the organization of the lake Geneva office and Brad Zenner's promises are unbelievable.
It is clear in our contract that access to the building site is required, and Cleary Building Corp. nor our sub contractors are responsible for damage from access. No other option was provided for access to the building site by the client other than using the driveway entrance. I had a building built by Cleary Building Corp, based in Verona WI; I used their Lake Geneva Office.
We work hard to figure out who the great contractors are, and who the bad contractors are. The Maryland Home Improvement Commission maintains high standards for home improvement contractor licensing. Applicants must provide proof of at least two years of experience or education in their given field and pass a board exam prior to receiving their license. Unfortunately we made our final payment before he fixed a couple of issues with our building and it's been one excuse after another. The last excuse was his "yard was broken into and all tools taken". I was googling this when I ran across additional complaints about Cleary. They do not ask if your site is inaccessible at certain times of the year due to snow or mud. They just showed up with building materials, even when I told them they couldn't drive to the building site for another month.
The materials were dropped off a month ago. The wood is cockeyedly resting on a sand pile and warping in the rain. No calls, no contacts when told it would be up next week, a month ago.
